Code of Conduct

At MPHC we take pride in our performance and promote good sportsmanship and fair play at all times. Every member of the club, including players, coaches, managers and parents are asked to co-operate both on and off the field.

Co-operate with your coach and manager.

Treat all players, officials and spectators in the way in which you would like to be treated.

Always play by the rules, umpires' decisions are final, so never argue with an official.

Umpires are to be treated with respect by players, coaches and spectators.

If you have a disagreement, talk to your coach, manager or captain first and let the club represent you.

Note 1: Any player, coach, parent or spectator can be ordered from the ground at the umpire's discretion for inappropriate behaviour and players can be put off the field for spectator indescretions. Clubs can be heavily fined and players, coaches, etc can be banned from playing or attending matches.

Note 2: In the event of inappropriate behaviour (including foul language and stick throwing), the matter will be referred to the match committee. Should the matter be warranted serious enough, disciplinary action may follow.

Hockey is about being part of a team. Support and encourage your team mates. Work together in every way, so that everyone may enjoy the game. If you are a parent or supporter you are also bound by this code.

Please Remember: It is not your game and the participants have their own reasons for playing. The best support you can give is to respect the reasons for which each person is involved, and encourage them in their chosen sport. Read your code of behaviour form. The club will not accept ignorance as an excuse.

Show respect to the coaches, managers and umpires as they are all volunteers working for your benefit.
